Colombian International Film Festival New York

Fundado en Manhattan en el año 2012 por Juan Carvajal, un joven cineasta de Cali (Colombia), el Festival Colombiano de Cine de Nueva York busca unificar la comunidad colombiana y latina existente en dicha ciudad a través de las mejores producciones cinematográficas de nuestro país. Por muchos años la industria de cine en Colombia limitó  los recursos para producir cine. Entre varios retos, fue la ausencia de una audiencia nacional la que demando mas producciones de Hollywood. En los años recientes, Colombia ha ampliado sus recursos para apoyar a cineastas en todo el país, desde entonces el numero de producciones ha aumentado dramáticamente.

Este año el Festival, celebra su 5º año con la premier el jueves 23 de marzo de la película “Perros” de Harold Trompetero, y se extenderá hasta el 26 de marzo con la proyección de más de 43 títulos de lo mas variado del cine nacional. 2.35 Digital estará presente gracias a su participación en algunos de los cortometrajes y largometrajes que se proyectaran en este festival:

Founded in Manhattan in 2012 by Juan Carvajal, a young filmmaker from Cali (Colombia), the Colombian Film Festival of New York seeks to unify the Colombian and Latin community in that city through the best cinematographic productions of our country. For many years the film industry in Colombia limited the resources to produce cinema. Among several challenges, it was the absence of a national audience that demanded more Hollywood productions. In recent years, Colombia has expanded its resources to support filmmakers across the country, since then the number of productions has increased dramatically.

This year the Festival celebrates its 5th year with the premiere on Thursday March 23rd of the film «Dogs» by Harold Trompetero, and will extend until March 26 with the projection of more than 43 titles of the most varied national cinema . 2.35 Digital will be present thanks to its participation in some of the shorts and feature films that will be projected in this festival:
