From 6 to 15 October will be held the twenty-first edition of International Film Festival Busan – Korea, Asia’s most important film event where the Colombian film EPIPHANY, represent the national film in the official selection of the event. The new film by Oscar Ruiz Navia completed in the laboratories of 2.35 Digital, co-directed by the Swedish director Anna Eborn, he is part of the official selection of the Festival in the section WORLD CINEMA dedicated to the best non-Asian works of the year, including the latest works of known filmmakers and awards at international film festivals. Epiphany will be alongside productions from all over the world, in a film festival that focuses on Asian audiences introduce new films with various aesthetic and thematic proposals. In addition to the participation of Epiphany in the official selection, the International Film Festival Busan will have a special focus on the cinema of the “Group of Cali” as essential root of the Colombian cinematography, highlighting the work of the legendary group, whose main members are Carlos Mayolo, Luis Ospina and Andres Caicedo, precursors of a revolutionary movement to cultural and cinematic level in the country. The special program Cali Group: Root of Colombian Cinema showcase feature films, besides the two mentioned above, Thoroughbreds (1982) and all started to (/2.35 Digityal 2015) by Luis Ospina; Flesh of your flesh (1983) and The Mansion of Araucaima (1986) by Carlos Mayolo; Blood and rain from Jorge Navas (2009), and live music of Carlos Moreno (2014); and a selection of short films directed by Mayolo and Ospina. In addition to the screening of films, Luis Ospina, Oscar Ruiz Navia and Jorge Navas will be present as special guests of the festival and presented in Busan this program focused on Colombia, where also share sessions of questions and answers with the audience and talks in which will be discussed in depth the modern history of Colombian cinema.
